The Bill Russell Celtics proved they still had a few wins left in the tank, much to the chagrin of the up-and-coming Walt Frazier New York Knickerbockers.

John Havlicek successfully drained the 24-second clock with last-second shots down the stretch and lifted the Celtics to a 106-105 win over the frustrated Knicks in Game 6 of the Eastern Division Finals and a 4-2 series victory.

WIlt Chamberlain and his Los Angeles Lakers awaited an opportunity to pay back the C’s for some of the pain and suffering they endured over the years.

Seven games later, the Celtics had their 11th championship in 13 years, giving Russell a proper send-off.
