NFL schedules were released, and the Patriots found themselves with two tests in the first two weeks – at Denver for a Monday night game, then hosting Indianapolis for a Sunday night game.

Two prime time games right off the bat. And they hadn’t even won a Super Bowl yet.

“Opening the season at Denver on Monday Night Football should help our players focus on the start of the season. I can’t think of a better way to motivate our team than before a nationally televised audience,” Pats coach Pete Carroll said.
