After Frank Malzone’s one-out RBI single to bring the Red Sox to within a run, Ted Williams grounded into a double play to end the eighth and the Red Sox dropped a 2-1 decision at Baltimore.

Orioles lefty Ray Moore iced the Red Sox for seven innings, limiting them to three singles, before reliever Ken Lehman came on in the eighth.

Williams accounted for one of those singles, extending his hit streak to 14 games.

Willard Nixon, allowing just two runs on 10 Baltimore hits.
