Ice Hockey Skates

Feb. 11, 1978

Inconveniences borne from the Blizzard of ’78 continued into the weekend. Massachusetts governor Michael Dukakis pulled the plug on two Bruins games and one Celtics game at the Garden.

The Bruins were peeved at losing a Saturday night date. The Celtics should have been thankful the way they were playing.

It also postponed Marvin Hagler’s bout with Kevin Finnigan. Finnigan should have skipped town altogether; Hagler’s eight-round triumph led to Finnigan needing 40 facial stitches.

The events were all rescheduled.
