Now for something that is guaranteed to never, ever happen again:

Bill Monbouquette pitched 12 innings for the Red Sox.

He earned a win over the Cleveland Indians when outfielder Carroll Hardy drilled a grand slam into the net after Carl Yastrzemski tripled, followed by intentional walks to Frank Malzone and Russ Nixon.

Cleveland starter Ron Taylor also worked to the end. Nixon's homer was Boston's 10th hit of the afternoon.

Attendance for the Wednesday afternoon tilt: 2,466.
