Boston Bruins flag

Coming off a five-game road trip, there was good reason to expect that the Bruins would bring their A-game to the Garden to take on their Adams Division challengers from Quebec.

They didn’t, and the Nordiques hammered the B’s 8-3.

The Bruins disappeared for 106 seconds in the second period and the Nordiques took charge for good. Quebec score three times in that stretch, turning a 3-1 game into a rout.

Most hockey players simply don’t have the ability to create excuses after getting their butt kicked. That would include Gord Kluzak.

“There’s no other way to put it,” Kluzak said. “We stunk.”

If only that frankness could be bottled and sold to all professional athletes.
