Well, in case anyone forgot the extent of Bill Belichick’s micromanagement, here is one tidbit from long ago.

A gent by the name of Dennis Brolin was in charge of the Gillette Stadium playing surface (and that of the old stadium). Apparently he said, did or thought something that rubbed Belichick the wrong way.

Brolin resigned from his post, which drew the following reaction from Belichick, as reported by the Boston Globe:

“If selfish people don’t want to win games and have ther agendas, then there is a philosophical difference. There’s nothing more important to me than the health and safety of our players. That’s more important to me than the aesthetics of the grass.”

Harrumph …

Brolin has a business, Sports Turf Specialties. He has done some work at Fenway Park when it hosted college football and for the Worcester Red Sox at Polar Park.
