Tony Conigliaro had a home run over everything in left, Carl Yastrzemski extended his hitting streak to nine games, driving in two runs and scoring two, and Lee Stange held back the Cleveland Indians in the Red Sox' 8-4 win at Fenway Park. Joe Foy had four hits, including two triples.

Stange shutout the Indians for seven innings, allowing two hits, before Cleveland scored two in the eighth and two in the ninth.

Rico Petrocelli took a George Culver fastball off his right wrist and left the game for x-rays, which showed there were no broken bones.
