Carl Yastrzemski’s home in Lynnfield, Mass., was burglarized over the weekend. The thieves made off with two TV sets, described only as “big.” For those born recently, big TV’s in those days meant 21-inch screens and a pretty heavy housing in the back.

They also drove away in Yaz’s Chrysler Imperial. For those born recently, Chrysler Imperials were boats on wheels.

What most concerned Yastrzemski was whether they stole the various awards he received for his MVP performance in 1967.

With his family in Winter Haven, he awaited a report from a neighbor who would assess the losses.
