Difficult as it was to consider Bill Russell as anything but a Celtics, the Seattle SuperSonics discarded that notion with one swipe of the pen.

Russell signed on to serve as Seattle’s head coach and general manager for a reported $125,000 per year.

He coached Seattle for four seasons, winning 162 times and losing 166.

Strange to think Russell was ever medicore at anything.
