Josh Beckett ran his record to 8-0, and the Red Sox to a big-league best 36-15 with a 4-2 win over the Cleveland Indians at Fenway Park.

Baseball was well into the Pitch Count Dictatorship, so Beckett may have been done after seven innings having allowed two runs on seven hits, striking out seven and walking one. But it was Beckett’s return from a stint on the disabled list with torn skin on the middle finger of his pitching hand.
