Baseball Bats

Red Sox shortstop Eddie Bressoud further ingratiated himself into the hearts of Red Sox fans as that greatest of all heroes – a Yankee killer.

Bressoud lined a two-run homer into the screen with two outs in the ninth to force the game into extra innings. Earlier he tripled to the triangle.

Dick Stuart homered off Yankees right-hander Ralph Terry, wearing glasses at bat for the first time.

It wasn’t enough to avoid a 6-5 loss to New York which pushed across the decisive run in the 10th.

Terry went the distance for his sixth win in 10 decisions.
