The Margo Adams Affair, which haunted Wade Boggs after he ended it and even after he faded from notice as a punchline, was still a headache as the Red Sox opened a series with the Angels in Anaheim.

Adams and Boggs engaged in a four-year extramarital affair that became public knowledge earlier in the season. Ultimately Boggs lost a palimony suit brought by Adams.

During the first game of the weekend series, as Boggs stepped up to the plate the Anaheim Stadium organist rapped out the theme from “The Addams Family.”

It did not go unnoticed.

Before the second game of the series, Boggs called the Angels front office, asking them to order the organist to cease and desist.

And so he did.
