In Game 3 of the 1975 World Series, Barnett was the umpire who failed to call interference on Reds batter Ed Armbrister for getting entangled with Carlton Fisk, whose ensuing wild throw led to the winning run scoring in the bottom of the 10th. Jan. 7, 1973 Before Dick Stockton began doing a little bit of everything for CBS, FoxSports, TNT, and a bunch of freelance gigs, he was the 6-and-11 p.m. sportscaster on WBZ-TV Ch. 4 news.  He also called Celtics telecasts. Stockton left WBZ and Boston after being passed over for the Red Sox play-by-play job. When the old WHDH-TV was rejected by the FCC in seeking to extend his broadcasting license, the Red Sox signed up with WBZ.
