Jan. 9, 1963 Having no way to imagine how five years later, karma was going to circle around and kick them in the butt, the Baltimore Colts fired Weeb Ewbank, who won consecutive NFL championships in 1958 and 1959. Ewbank brought life to the previously moribund Baltimore franchise, but after the second title the team began slipping backwards. In the 1962 season the Colts were a disappointing 7-7.
