Nov. 22, 1958 Ever hear the old bromide, “I went to a fight and a basketball game broke out.” Since the sport in question is typically hockey, probably not. But the Celtics and New York Knicks had four full-fledged brawls at Madison Square Garden. The top billing on the evening's card went to Tommy Heinsohn and Wilie Naulls in the third quarter, which ended with Heinsohn being ejected. Players who laid the foundation for the Heinsohn-Naulls battle included: Boston's Bill Shaman and New York's Ron Sobie and Boston's Jim Loscutoff vs. New York's Ken Sears.
